I am a native of Jasper County. I am a former law enforcement officer with 20 years of experience (2 years in the United States Airforce and 18 years in Jasper County). I've spent the majority of my law enforcement career working with the Jasper County School District in the School Resource Officer Program as a resource officer and later as the Supervisor of the Community Division for the Sheriffs Office. I have worked with various organizations and agencies to ensure that students received the proper assistance needed to help them become productive citizens ( ranging from mentoring, counseling, food, clothing and shelter, to drug rehabilitation programs). I bring to this board my resourcefulness and my ability to work as a team to build a foundation for students at Polaris Tech so that they will become successful and productive citizens in society. I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to be a part of this great team. Give me your vote and I promise to work hard as a board member to make Polaris Tech a success for our students!
Jeffery "Scott" Hanna
My name is Jeffery Scott Hanna (Scott) and I am the Pastor at Black Creek Baptist Church in Walterboro and Project Coordinator for Mission Serve in Walterboro (Serve Management Group). My past experience working with other board members and various committees for varied different organizations will be of great value. I believe both the past and present opportunities granted to me to serve with other boards will prove helpful in part when combined with the experience and skills of the other present and/or potential board members. It is my desire to serve with other like-minded individuals whose goals and purposes for serving are to help ensure that Polaris Tech becomes the premier Charter School for today, tomorrow, and generations to come. Understanding the mission is of upmost importance for advancing the mission. The mission of "unleashing student potential and cultivating aspirations so that students are career-oriented, college-ready, and community-invested" must be at the forethought of every idea presented, decision made, and action implemented by the entire leadership team. My hope is to help advance this mindset in conjunction with the other team members. I request your vote.
