Character Education Student of the Month

Character Education Student of the Month:

Rationale:

By creating a Student of the Month Program, Polaris Tech Charter School hopes to celebrate individual achievement that supports the social, emotional, and ethical development of learners.

Criteria for Nomination:

  • Navigators will select one learner in their class who they feel represents the character word of the month.
  • A written explanation must be submitted to the school counselors as to why the learner should be selected for the award.

Process:

  1. Each month, the school counselor will teach learners about the character education word of the month through classroom lessons.
  2. An email will be sent out to navigators asking them to select one learner in their class for the award. Selections will be submitted to the school counselor.
  3. The learners who have been selected will be announced on the last Friday each month. These learners will be highlighted on a bulletin board, receive a certificate, and earn recognition from administration. Teachers also recognize these students in their classroom.
  4. Learners who are selected will not be able to earn the award again during the current school year.
  5. Only those who win the award will be recognized; other nominees will not be disclosed.
